wut. witchdoctor= necro. witchdoctor is just a less westernized necromancer(and therefore greater)
and if someone had a problem with tame westernized necromancers, why would a bizarrely dressed half naked pagan doing the exact same thing be any better?

Or, you know, maybe instead of giving us the same classes as D2, they want to give us something new? It has absolutely nothing to do with anything you said. Thinking that is just absurd.
The witch doctor is quite similar to the necro.

Neither . Not sure I will have time in university senior years : O
If I *had* to pick, GW2, simply because I've never followed Diable stuff

...
I never said it was a logical position.
And no, a Witchdoctor is not a less wersternised Necromancer. A Necromancer specifically summons dead spirits for the purposes of Divination and the like (a pointless process really, people are going to have muddled memories of the past and a dead person is going to be confused and ignorant about the present, what use are they going to be when asking about the future?).
A Witch Doctor is just a tribal healer (who's methods are typically somewhat dubious, but sometimes spirits get invoked).
The old gameplay videos they had for the Witchdoctor (don't know if they're still there) show something quite similar to the old Necromancer - summoning minions etc.

D3, SC2, GW2..... feels like Ive been waiting for all of them forever...... I will likely buy whichever one comes out first, but likely will have all three on my computer.
The non mouse movement thing going to be used by GW2 will put me off a little, but we'll see nearer the release dates. Blizzard will likely release one or both around GW2 to try and subdue/divert any success of GW2s release.

Guild Wars 2 AND Diablo 3, Diablo 3 because my real life friends (5-6 of them) will join and play together.
GW2 because my long time GW friends are coming back for GW2, and has kinda left GW1.

witchdoctors summon/commune with spirits for the purpose of curing an ailment or something along those lines, a necro uses the spirits for divination ooh big difference. as far as raising the dead, vooooooooooodooooooooooo

you speak as if you have knowledge as to what happens postmortem.

it's generally more spirit involved (that and throwing random bullshit in a bowl, mixing it, then calling it a cure)

I was a hard core Diablo and Diablo 2 fan, i pre-order D2, got the CE and played the hell out of it, but after blizzard basicly gave up on it and let it destroyed it self, i lost all my faith in Blizzard. I was still playing D2 when i found GW and still played i somewhat after, but then my heart left D2 because it was old and no longer fun and my heart was now total in GW. So it would be very hard to chose between GW2 and D3, but if i really really had a chose given the current information we have, i would go with GW2. Though if i had the money i could possible get both of them.

GW2.
/begin old fart rant
Talking about being burned out...We have to listen to Deckard Cain again!!! I am going to stick the horadric cube on top of the horadric staff and shove up his horadric ass. Die you old coot!
"Several of the NPCs, from both the original Diablo and Diablo 2" will also return according to Jay Wilson.[3]
Thank God Griswold is dead, if my wife hears "WELL, WHAT CAN I DO FOR YA?" again she will fly off into a homicidal rage killing everyone in a one mile radius.
Blizzard really needs to quit rehashing its story lines. Unfortunately the gaming media laps this crap up. Any other company that rehashes stories this long is hung out to dry, but since this is blizzard everyone turns a blind eye to this fact. Cannot diss their cash cow.
/end old fart rant

From a grind based branch (h&s) D3 is getting closer to GW with free respec a la GW.
GW2 will get some mmorpg elements, (hopefully w/o seperate persistant worlds).
And most important, you will be able to move your chars from GW2 to D3 and inversely, for 9 bucks and half.

D3 is very likely to be polished and playable when it hits the shelves. It is being made by a very experienced and very well funded team. It is also not an MMO, which brings me to my next point: GW2 is probably going to be a wreck for the first month or so, because it's an MMO, and furthermore it is being developed by a company with significantly less funding.
I'll be getting D3 on release day, and waiting until GW2 is actually playable before buying it.

That. Of course unless there's a preorder deal that I like, I probably won't get GW2 when it comes out and wait a week or two.

Diablo III by a mile!
I think I easily played more hours of Diablo II when I was younger than I ever played Guild Wars. As long as I can farm for hours and get ridiculous gear, I'll be happy. It's how Diablo is meant to be.

The DII Necro is what lured me into that game (and GW subsequently). He was as dynamic as he was cool - not to mention unique. I don't see any of those other DII classes coming close.
<------ WTB Bone Spear.
OP - Probably no D3 for me. Possibly GW2. TBD.
